Riding
The Wyre Forest area has much to offer the horse rider. Rides through peaceful countryside, along forest tracks, bridleways and over open common land are all within easy reach.
Riding schools in the area offer extensive riding activities. Trekking and hacking are available at most of the establishments. For further details please contact the relevant riding school.
Bridleways within the Wyre Forest are well marked but they are not numerous. If riders wish to use other permitted paths in the forest it is necessary to obtain a permit. Day passes cost £5 per rider and are available from the Wyre Forest Visitor Centre (Tel. 01299 266944). Forestry riding permits give riders access to all the Forestry Commission forests in the West Midlands Region for longer periods, of 6 or 12 months, and are available from the Toll Rides (Off-Road) Trust (TROT), who manage the permit scheme on their behalf. If you would like further details and/or an application form, call TROT on: 01622 735599.
